Gabriel Tamas
For many, this is one of the stepping stones, one of the foundation bricks on which the modern Dungeon Synth fortress was founded. To this day this record is among the best the genre has to offer. The overall atmosphere, the brilliant use of brass and strings, the dark feeling that shrouds the listener... all contribute to the instant classic status of this album. And now, we;re finally getting it on vinyl!
Favorite track: (Outro) The End.
bllaaaarrggghh
The greatest dungeon synth album of all time right here. Dark, mystical and triumphant. Hard to pick a favorite track because they are all fantastic.

On his debut album MURGRIND concerns himself with the mood of ritualism, secret depths and archaic barbarity.
Journey Through The Mountain is a soundtrack to a long dangerous trip through the biggest of all mountains in MURGRIND's fantasy world.
The listener is supposed to have the feeling of wit-nessing exactly this trip - but at the same time creating his/her own imaginary world.
The story is just slightly explained in the booklet to give the listeners space for their own interpretation.

From a review in metal sound magazine:
"Murgrind has quite successfully captured the spirit of 90s.
We could truly conclude that its debut material Journey Throuhg the Mountain has so much potential to offer.
Those lovers and admires of dark fantasy art and atmospheric style should check out this offering.
There’s no doubt that we have the best answer to Mortiis that has been done so far!"
"Murgrind openly reaps where Mortiis sow, picking up where the latter left in 1996 with his final "pure" dark dungeon music release "Crypt of the wizard" and bringing the original spirit to its updated, 21st century reincarnation."

The mixture of these two artists works very well. The Thangorodrim's sound is absolutely dreamy as always and immediately immerses us in a dark fantasy atmosphere. Haryon offers different melodies and different atmospheres with new ideas that mark the places and characters he wants present. A wonderful start to present this project before the release of the first album 'Memories of Arda'. A fantastic musical alliance who always transports me in Middle-Earth with epic sounds. johnlordswood
